Cam gears are not hard to install as long as you know how to do timing belts...right now you can only get cam gear on your exhaust cam because of the VCT on the intake, i am currently working on making the adapter piece to get rid of the VCT...once we make it perfect i'll probably be getting with Focus-Central to sell it...

Why would you want to get rid of the VCT?

Correct me if I'm wrong but CincySR, your the one with the SVTF motor in the ZX2 right? Not be be offensive here, but to prevent confusion here. Please explain to all the SVTF owners that most if not all the major parts that make up the whole "SVTF" motor have been removed as so the motor will adapt and work with the ZX2 componets. Those of us who have SVTF, still have to deal with the ECU, that you dont have. The adapter piece may work for you, but the ECU and tuning for that matter, may not accept it for our "true" SVTF.

Again I'm not trying to cause an argument, or be offensive in anyway.

Yes i am the one with the SVT motor in my z...The only thing that is different between what i did and a stock SVT is the ecu...i had to remove the vct because my ecu(S/R) controls it on the other cam and it messes with the engine when running...as far as the adapter piece it will work on the anyone's svt engine, it allows you to remove the stock vct cam gear and replace it with a adjustable cam gear with no vct...this is for precise tuning when you start to add components to the engine...the zx2 community found out a long time ago that vct is both a good and bad thing...on stock motors, so of the zx2 people found 5hp just by removing the vct...

BTW dont worry about trying to cause an arguement with me, i'm very easy going most of the time and i dont take offense to alot of stuff...i'm always willing to help where i can...

I guess those SVT Ford engineers decided to install the vct to rob the SVTF of it's true HP potential...

You probably can get an extra 5 hp out of removing the VCT. But, you'll lose torque. And we don't need that to happen
