Another Chip for the SVT!

From Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=35577

$24.99 only! Anyone try this? I am skeptical... But its from Germany, so it must be good.

This on the other hand...Me likey!

Vortech Kit w/ air-water intercooler for $4.3K. I hear an air-air intercooler is better for the real world, but maybe the air-water is good for drag racing.

I haven't been hitting the threads too hard lately, sorry if this has already been talked about.

Yeah Seb, I will not put any BS in my car. Only legit stuff. It is my daily driver, so no wacky parts.

This Diablo thing has been a long time coming, no? If companies are having trouble with the SVT computer, what does the JRSC or Vortech kit use for fuel mangement etc?

I am more than confident that those things are junk, but just for curiosities sake, have any of you that all talk smack about them done a before and after on a dyno with one? Just you never know, and if you've never tried how do you know? One guy says any mod that claims over 1hp that costs under $50 he won't even think about, were as on my dsm I gained about 40 whp from a $10 mod Granted I will never buy those ebay things, but until I see a dyno I can't say there junk.

You are right Dave. In a perfect world, I would have my own dyno and would post results on here. So I could buy a $20 product and it wouldn't cost me $120 for 2 runs...

The only other reasonable option would be to get a G-Tech Pro. Then people would say the G-Tech is crap. I have found some small low-cost, 3-axis MEMS Inertial Measurement Units, but low-cost is $1900 in the aircraft world!

Granted, the G-Tech will not be as precise as the $1900 IMU, but how precise do we need it to be?

A good story about the G-Tech, my friend says it is garbage. They took a brand new G-Tech and installed it in a car and did some 0-60 tests. It said the car made 1000 hp, unlikely as it was a stock WRX. I then asked, did you input the correct weight of the car, and they are like, what? duh?

Some people take them to the track and say they are within .1s compared to the slips, and usually consistent. The new G-Tech Pro is a good amount of cash. But I have seen the old school one on EBAY for $40.

Anyone have a G-Tech?
