What is going on?

Today I get in my car and plug in my car charger to my cigarette lighter and the charger didn't turn on. I figured it was just my charger so I tried it on my financee's car and it worked perfect. I have no power to either outlet (dash or lower console). I don't really know any about wiring so what could cause this? Thanks in advance.

yea, sometimes the cig lighter fuse just plain sucks. that would always happen in my explorer. i can 99.9999 % guarantee that its the fuse. then again, it could just be something funky like mine it. when i still had my radar detector, i used the cig lighter(duh...lol) and if you turned the plug while in the socket one way, it wouldnt work, and if you turned it the other way, it did work. kinda weird...

well, good luck!

I was just going to say the same thing but matthewstetz did it for me. If you look inside of the outlet, the socket isn't solid all the way around like other cars. It has a groove in both sides and you might be sticking in your charger right in this spot where the contacts have nothing to touch.

I hate using it too. Whenever I try to charge my celly on the road, I lose almost every damn radio station.
