question about svt exhaust

i was looking under the car and i can see, 3 pieces from the engine to the tip, pretty sure,
#1 is the Cat
#2 muffler
# ???

or
# Cat
#???
# muffler

i want the car to be a bit louder, with out going crazy doing exhaust, 'cause i just got the car and i don't have too much money left....

they 3rd piece is right before the tip, i'm guessing that kinda quiets it down, or it makes it have that svt sound???

first off to FocusFanatics.com
... here describes the complete exhaust system.
#1 - header
#2 - CAT
#3 - flex pipe
#4 - resonator
#5 - muffler 1
#6 - muffler 2 (lunchbox)
#7 - tip

the cat is located right after the header, before the flex pipe. you really have to craw directly under the tranny to see it. just by peering under the car without lifting it, you can only see the last four items that are listed.
and FYI, the OEM SVT exhaust cannot not be improved on. you can make sound, but not power. do what you want with the piping, just dont make it sound like a sick honda. the only way to make our cars sound good is to buy Borla or Magnaflow, or even a Hypnotic Exhaust system. but please, dont rice out an SVT.

i just want the car to sound a bit better, a little meaner maybe, more balls.... i don't know how to say it...

anyways, i can't spend 400 bucks under the car just yet.... so i was going to mess around to get a bit of better sound so i can wait 'till i get the exhaust....

Thats was a cool link to those clips...daddy like!! Personally I wouldn't change the stock exhaust...it's just a waste of money. The only thing that I know of to change on the exhaust that will actually give you any thing is getting an ORP. I hear that it makes it sound too loud for most people. If you just want to get more sound out of your exhaust change your intake. I only have one mod so far and it's a steeda short ram intake and that changed the tone of my exhaust and it actuallt sounds alot better then stock. In stock form to me it still sounded good. Thats my 2 cents!!

get an R/T cat over an orp, you still get a good performance improvement, in my opinion a nicer sound, and you stay legal

search it, you should get a gazillion topics on it.....

but in summary, it's a replacement catalytic converter that flows a lot more freely, yet it still keeps the exhaust gasses within legal limits. It would go in place of you heavy restricted stock cat (catalytic converter).

It is made by Random Technologies, runs around 300 to 350 bucks...
