No advice to offer you, I certainly have never had a regret in ownership of mine. Something tells me that perhaps you are just ready for change, maybe looking to get into a different platform?

*What did you spend $2K on?

I feel the total opposite way, ive sank some $ in her, but way satisifyed with her. But for the money, still worth every penny. I wanted to ask the same thing as to if you spent $2k in the engine, why doesnt it run?

Not to be too harsh, but some of that may be the driver. I'm stock, and .36 from running in the 14's, and know that I have at least another .10 that as a driver I can shave off.

If your not happy maybe another car is in order. Maybe it needs to be taken to another party who can optimize your engine mods. Air fuel ratios as an example can make or break a motor.

I've come to see my car as a sum greater than the parts that built it, or one area of it's performance or comfort and amenities. This sense of integrity and purpose is valuable to me, and I feel that my car is "worth it".

That depends on what you mean by "worth it". One thing to consider is owning an SVT focus, purely by the numbers, you own something that is hard to come by. Only what - 14,000 made - ever? That is bound to never go up AND if anything, it gets lower due to totaled-car attrition. These are pretty low numbers in the grand scheme of things. An example - I have an '89 IROC that I've been hanging onto for a while now - doesn't see the light of day much - but anyway, the point is, nice ones are hard to come by anymore and there were something like 30,000 made JUST in 89 alone, never mind a 5-year run of them. The SVTf is truly a low production number, limited run - no doubt about it. The engineering that went into them was unique in many ways as well. For me, that is a huge reason why I like and enjoy mine. Depending on what you switch to, it probably won't be as rare. I know when I hit the road I will be the only SVTf out there - I've driven from NY to Michigan multiple times and not seen another over 9 hours of driving and a few hundred miles. Then again, all that might not matter if you just don't care about that sort of thing. If "worth it" just means performance, however you quantify performance, then the unique-ness probably doesn't matter.

Man, for less than 2k I've gotten stuff that makes me LOVE the car even more than when I bought it. I think you may have bought the car for the wrong reasons... it really isn't a quater mile car, and it truely shines when you're driving on a road with a ton of turns.

I have an ST, little slower than ur SVT (obviously), but I love it. The thing is, I realize it isn't a real fast car and I didn't buy it for that reason. Great gas mileage, great styling, Good price and good handling make this car fun for me to drive. If you are looking for a fast car, I think you chose the wrong car. But seriously, if you put 2K into your engine alone, I would have to think your car is quick enough to be fun and smoke more than a few cars on the road. I don't have a SVT, but I can imagine it being worth it. Just my opinion.
