How much wheelspin do you get when you launch?

Alright I am curious about this (considering having my car dyno'd out of curiosity and to check to see if im on par with everyone else). First off I have an 03 zx5 svt with 28k miles on it. My mods are: Borla muffler with lunchbox hacked - RT high flow cat - and waynes tune.

With TC turned off and at a standstill launching at 3k - 3.5k I get a quick bit of wheel spin and then the RPM's totally die off (down to around 2k). I tried launching at 4k and got a quick second of wheel spin and then down to around 2.5k. I have read up on launching before but I dont really understand why it is bogging so badly. The most recently I have done it was on dry pavement with ambient temps of around 20-30 degrees. Pavement also has salt residue on it which if anything should create less friction than on clean pavement. I am just wondering what could be causing this. Granted no two launches will EVER be the same as there are SO many factors- but even in the "best" of conditions (im not saying I want wheel spin or anything, but the bogging drives me up the wall) I should be seeing significant wheelspin compared to what I have read from others here on the board. My car feels like it pulls reasonably well, but then again I have never really driven another svt foci very hard to compare.

I have the TC on/off (fully) with waynes tune so I know TC isnt the problem. Lately I have been running my stock conti's that are 60% worn, but also notice pretty similar results with my BFG G-forces.

Pretty much none. My new Kumho Ecsta SPT's are pretty sticky and I get a solid launch. My old Conti's would spin at take off but they had some miles on them. Without the spin my car is much quicker off the line. With my current mods I have no bog problems. I used to feel it quite a bit when it was stock...see sig.

lol im mainly just curious about other SVT's as different trannies/tires/engines tend to make for even more drastic differences. (although my dads 01 SE will bark them off the line ;) )

Funk: so when you launch say at 3.5k rpm what happens on the tach? does it jump a bit as the tires try to slip, then continue on up? (does it go below the launching rpm?)

I just dont see how with a lack of traction and a higher than normal launch rpm how I can get very little spin AND bog. If I had super sticky tires on hot clean pavement I could understand but thats not the case.

I know about the bog you refer to, but it sounds a little more pronounced on your car than mine. There is plenty of variables, with the biggest being rate, or speed, that the clutch is let out, and this is hard to quantify.

I have read problems with Wayne's tunes (only a very few, two or three) not fully disabling the traction control. My suggestion for you is to pull the number 46 fuse out, and give your launches a try again. If you're having problems still, you can at least rest assure the tune is functiong correctly with the traction control. You should be able to generate some wheelspin (have you tried at higher RPMs?) with no TC on. I would try launching closer to 4k but not much higher. Still, it really depends on the conditions, and pulling out the 46 fuse will only take seconds to figure out if that's the source of your troubles.

I've also read with his tunes that virtually all the bog is eliminated, so I don't know where to say the problem may be.

My Car doesn't have TC so that could be a variable. In addition I installed a stage 2 ported/bored TB. The TB alone virtually eliminated the "bog" on my car. Along with my Xcal tune, SRI, and exhaust I find it not necessary to over rev to get my car off the line. If I really want to rocket launch I will give it the extra rpms, but there's a fine line as to what is too much. My new tires bite so good right now that I will get some wheel hop if I over rev on take off...
