All Motor Svt

I recently posted a thread regarding supercharging my svt engine however i find myself leaning more toawrds a mild all motor setup. Ive been attempting to research some exhaust cams for my engine however i find myself coming up short on results. Many companies are telling me that the svt cams are already a very aggressive stout. Ive also been trying to read some other threads regarding this problem but no one seems to inquiry about this. My goals are the same im not lookign to lose all drivability but i do want power..so anyone who has started to walk down the all motor road please respond and let me kno what you have found already. thanks. any advice...cams, exhausts, ignition, trans any and all head components, porting ...etc. thanks again.

Ive been wanting to go N/a route if possible for a close 200whp motor. I think the motor is capable of it, but it will just have to be a built motor. Bolt ons will just not yield the power we are looking for. So ill start off with a few things.

Here we have camshafts that have to be custom made:

http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...threadid=71278

Then you can go on your way and send out your head for a port and polish, valve job, see if you can find new valver retainers and springs. I know that Sport Compact Magazine sent there head to Cosworth in the US and it was custom done, cost money but can be done.

Ok with the head out of the way, whats next? Well we go for the bottom end, and you can definitely get new pistons, (since the rods are already forged i think they can stay), so i would say something above 11:1 or just that would be enough, i mean if your going all out anyways why not 12:1 or higher. Rev nice and high. Oh yeah, thinner headgasket.

I would suggest ITB, but i know not one company who does this, so this would have to be totally custom setup, dont know about tuning (possibly standalone)

But for the rest of the setup besides ITB i would say Tom would be able to tune the car.

Dont forget pullies, adjustable cam gears, 2.5 inch exhaust system. Now all this would have to dynotuned to work with each other. Im sure others will chime in. But i think if your gonna dump some money in the car and want to be a little different, not make the crazy turbo power but have a nice N/a setup, this would be a start.

Well first off, I've started down the all motor trail (for now). And I'll tell you that an exhaust is not going to be nessicary, unless you want a change of tone. The SVT header and exhaust is great! I'm thinking about leaving the cams I have on (factory cams). I am going to get the thing P&P this summer. I think the best bet is to put all the basic bolt ons onto the thing, then go from there. I would also sugest running a lighter flywheel and a stronger clutch. Personally after the P&P I'll probably be happy enough with it and move onto all suspension mods and then who knows from there on. Good luck man, it's a lot of fun, but it is going to cost you a good amount of cash. Gotta love N/A power though.

Tom offers the 2.3l stroked block. It will cost you a good amount, but it is a new block stroked to 2..3l. The extra displacement with tuning should yield you close to or above 200whp. But if it doesn't you can always get headwork done too.

Just landed a new job, I'm hoping to go this route eventually. Bump up compression on the stroked block, get the cams done by zxtuner and then supercharge it. The car is still a daily driver for now, so I'm going high compression supercharged rather than lowering compression and turbo. Beating 300whp/tq with a supercharger.. hmm.. this'll be interesting.

I am looking for either some 5spoke SVT wheels or RS wheels at a good price, send me a PM (preferably with existing tires.. preferably with existing tred heheheh) or maybe even some of the euro 15 (is it 15?) spoke wheels, black.

This route is tempting for me too. Is 100hp/L attainable without FI? And I mean 100hp/L at the crank - pure engine output. Sure it would be less at the wheel. I didn't want to ask about 100hp/L at the wheel, N/A, because I'm pretty sure it can't be done. But at the crank, might it be possible? What could help get it there?

BTW the Honda S2000 delivers 240bhp so it does 120hp/l and I'm sure the SVTF engine can do the same.

03svtpb, I'd start by working on the heart (pistons and crank maybe), then on the head, get it to breathe better with an intake and a 65mm TB. Good recipe for fun and pleasure. Keep in touch and let us know what you came up with finally. Best regards.

Is it obtainable? Yes.

On an american block? Ehhhh.....

Not bashing the focus, I love it. But don't any of you find it funny that the duratec block is a freaking power house.. yet its not domestic? I'll still love my SVTF forever an ever an ever an ever.

^^^^^ lol i agree. it's funny when i read that post i was also thinking "yeah but it's a honda" .

definately get toms 2.3l short block, p&p head, and all the boltons including the exhaust!

MISVTfocus, i'm a firm believer in not touching the SVT exhaust except for the cat BUT if you go FI or have a NA setup like we're talking about doing, you're going to get gains from an exhaust!

Seeing as Mountune sells a 270bhp 2.0L Zetec, I have little doubt that 200whp is very attainable.

There are a lot more Zetec tuners in the UK than there are here, and I have seen several Zetec setups comfortably in this range.
