SVTF Cost per HP for Power Adders

I was curious as to what some of the different methods of gaining horsepower cost per hp. I based my calculations on rough estimates so go easy on the flames.

Toms full kit $6000 = 239 HP, 90 HP gain = 1.5 HP per $100 = $66.66 per HP

Vortec SC $4600 = 245 HP, 95 HP gain = 2 HP per $100 = $50 per HP

PowerWorks SC $4500 = 250 HP, 100 HP gain = 2.222 HP per $100 = $45 per HP

Pro Charger SC $3400 = 235 HP, 85 HP gain = 2.5 HP per $100 = $40 per HP

Jackson SC $3100 = 212 HP, 62 HP gain = 2 HP per $100 = $50 per HP

Bolt-on Parts $2000 = 170 HP, 20 HP gain = 1 HP per $100 = $100 per HP

The procharger will actually give you about 280/210 at the wheels.

Re: SVTF Cost per HP for Power Adders

Well actually the JSCR can be had for roughly 2500 shipped and the bbk for around 400 dollars

It easy to state all of these hp numbers but ease of installation and longevity are also very important factors when choosing FI.

It's an interesting view point though - hadn't really thought of it that way.

Where are you finding the JRSC and BBK for those prices?

JacksonRacing.com has it listed for around 2500 and importcarpartsplus.com has it listed for less than that. The BBK can be had from Steve @ Toulsey Ford

Toms FULL kit is good for ALOT more than 239whp, It'll make more power than the SVT block can handle (on pump gas)

With a good tune you can get 270whp with ease and STILL have more room to grow.

Turbo's are gonna cost more but they also more more power and can be upgraded at the turn of a button.

umm can you do the Tq $ too? cause its kind of biased since obviously a turbo will give you more tq than a sc
