Dumb ass dealers

I took my car into the dealer cuz my car would make a loud ass poppin noise during down shifting. i told them about it and the manager said it was my rev limiter and that it was keepin my engine from blowin up. he wouldnt even get in the car to go for a drive wit me. So i drive over to the chevy dealership i used to work for and got one of the techs over there to drive and ride wit me and he told me that it was the motor mounts. i swear to god the ******* dealer people are retarded!!! just cuz i'm a black dude wit a nice car he dont wanna help nobody. jk. but seriously. i took it back to that same ******* and told him that it wasnt my rev limiter and it was my motor mounts and he was all like" who told u that?" and "y didnt u let us diagnose it?" i told him bitch u told me it was my rev limiter!!!

needless to say i took it somewhere else and got it fixed under warranty. But where can i buy new ones that wont break as easily and about how much?

Well, I'm a white dude with a nice car, and when I went to the dealer for a check engine light, the service manager said it was the muffler
Then I walked into the garage and asked an actual mechanic, he told me a muffler has nothing to do with a CEL.
Always talk to the mechanics!

Which mount was broken? I'm willing to be it was the rear mount. Yoyu can try the VF engineering ones... Focus Sport sells them, as well as many other websites, the rear one is $99. I can't say if they break easier or not

Dont blame all the dealers. There are some pretty good ones out there just as there are some bad.

lol, most likely it's the rear motor mount and VF Engineering makes the best engine mounts for our SVT's. It's a pretty easy install and it'll cost you about $100...

It's hard for me to imagine a situation that would take me back to the dealer for service...

^^^ That says it all. It just sounds like you got an idiot. Shame really, but it happens.

The mount everyone recommends is a much better piece than the stock one.

Indubitably! I would never take my car to a dealership. Now with that being said I heard of some instances of the VF rear mounts practically rattling the whole interior. Can anyone confirm this? I already don't like how the stock idle of the car rattles my steering wheel like it does. What's wrong with replacing all the mounts with stock ones, like every 50K?

eng mounts

i can say that the rear trans mount does make the car rattle more if you call it that, maybe a little buzz. but my MSD ignition took care of most of it and my next custom tune i am thinking of having my idle set to 950-1000 rpms to elimante what is there now. but it is still worth it. makes a difference in both the shifting and braking.
