My New Cool Mods

After 2 weeks I just got back my SVTf from The Hot Rod Store of Texas in San Antonio, Texas.

Here is what I had done (all totals include shipping):

ClutchMasters Stage III Clutch from www.UltraRev.com $437.25
Kent Cams Alloy Adjustable Exhaust Cam Gear from www.FocusSport.com $153.31
Borla SVT Focus Exhaust from www.redlinetuning.com $441.95
RT Brake Caliper Lacquer Set Blue from www.redlinetuning.com $45.77
Quaife Differential for Focus Zetec/SVT from http://focus.c-f-m.com/ $1,112.94
Fidanza 12.5lb Focus SVT Flywheel www.ebay.com $337.00

Total costs for parts: $2,528.22

They did a great job and I highly recommend The Hot Rod Store of Texas. Benny is the owner and he personally oversaw my mods. The Blue Lacquer job on my Break Calibers makes my SVT Stock Calipers look like Brembo Breaks.

My SVTf accellerates better and revs faster. My next step is to have a dyno and dial in the Kent Cam Gear (The Hot Rod Store of Texas does not have a Dyno unfortunately).

Not sure. I bought all my stuff online from other companies as described and he charged me labor to install.

Their number is (210) 657-3673

Ask for Benny the owner and he will take care of you.

so that total price of $2,191.22 included the cost of all the parts and labor, or does that exclude the labor part.

texassvt, I am in San Antonio. Still trying to determine where I am going to get it dynoed.

I set the Cam Gear at 0 degrees until I can get it dynoed. Supposedly you still gain HP and Torque even at 0 degrees with a lighter weight Alloy Cam Gear.

eurotrashvrt, The cost only includes parts not labor. My negotiated rate for Labor I prefer not to disclose.

That is the price you pay for one for the SVT. I shopped everywhere cheapest I could find it. It took 2 weeks because I took it to them when they were busy with other jobs and then I asked them to do the Exhaust, CamGear and to Bling up my Brake Calipers the second week.

The Hotrod Store is off of IH35 close to Thousand Oaks Exit.

how do you like the stage III clutch so far? some say its to extreme for everyday driving. I can't wait til my clutch starts going so i can get a aftermarket one! screw all this dual mass bs. centerforce makes a dual friction clutch for the svt now. had one in a 5.0 stang about 4 years ago.... awesome. hard launches when needed, but not too grabby for everday driving.

Honestly I have noticed no loss of "smoothness" with my new CMIII clutch compared to my stock SVT clutch. I have not been doing any hard driving since you are supposed to break it in for the first 500 miles. It actually feels more positve and sporty to me if that makes sense.

However, I did rev it up and slammed it into first gear when I picked it up to test the Quaife. Layed dual tread marks for about 10 to 15 feet on dry pavement so I know the Quaife DIff is working.

Also I know some people claim the Aluminum Flywheel is noisy but I have not heard any difference in noise level between the old and new flywheel.
