Installed ORP last night

So I installed my ORP last night and it didn't take long after we finally got the PB blaster. We let it cool, jacked it up, go to spray the bolts, and the PB blaster was all out from the header install we did on a 5-0 a few weeks ago. Anyway...that's how it always goes, before you start...you have to get distracted or need something from the store, go buy it, then you can start working. Those bolts that were in "tight" places as some of you described were stupidly easy to get to. No offense, but you guys have never taken a stock H off of a stang, otherwise you would have described it to me as a cakewalk. The only minor setback we had was the 02 sensors. We didn't have the 19-20mm? cresent wrench, so we improvised with some vice grips. After we wiggled with the cat for about 3 minutes, got the 02 sensors outta the stock cat and threaded them into the ORP, the install process literally took about 5-10 minutes. Super easy! Me and my friends were taking bets if cat delete + stock catback was going to be rice or not, and it sorta is. We all agree it sounds about 75% rice. I mean I guess there's no way around it....it's a 4banger. I do however like the popping noise it makes at WOT 1-2 shifts and on downshifts. PROS:Overall, really easy mod, I can feel the powerband smoothed out, I can actually hear when to engage my car and about when to shift instead of watching tach all day, and it pops and gurgles. Cons: illegal and kinda ricey.

I will get a vid clip of it when the weather turns back to sunny mode.

Yeah, thats how I felt too, pretty ricey, but its a four banger so its to be expected. At first I thought it was stupid loud, but I got used to it pretty quick. Jury is still out on weather or not I keep mine on, however I do think its sounds best at WOT, then it just sound angry!

Loud is awesome, then you don't have to use the tach.

But, EVERYONE tries to race you when you are loud. I have soccer moms try and go when I am just on my way to work.

I'll add some more cons:

Lost bottom end power.
You now pollute 20 times your original amount.
Next time you get stopped, you hope the cop doesn't throw you a $2500 ticket.

All this could have been avoided with a hi-flow cat.

ORP is the only thing on my car that I actually felt a gain from.

I didn't think the install of my RT cat was that difficult. It's nice having a bunch of extensions and a breaker bar (didn't use PB blaster). A lift would have been nice, but I just put the front on ramps and went at it.

The RT cat sounds very similar to the ORP, but it doesn't resonate inside the cab quite as much - it doesn't stink either!

I totally agree with ya! The ticket for having no cat would easily cover all the hi-flo cats you'd ever need for the life of your vehicle. Spend the extra $100 or so and get a cat - PLEASE!
