FORD is in trouble!

So I went to the dealership to have the knock sensor fixed today. So I have them print out my oasis report. On the front sheet it says OWNER NAME: Christopher evertet, and purchased 6/30/04. I have no idea who everett is and i bought my car in early July. When I bought the car I was told it was new, this car however is used and under someone elses name. I bought it from a dealership in Silver Spring, MD. They drove the car to me for free so I thought it was a good deal. After reviewing the papers like crazy I saw this.
7/4/2004 customer states steering wheel shakes shakes after 45mph - I never reported this or took my car in for it.

So it looks like I got scamed. What would you guys do? And what car should I get next?

Dude... you might be able to keep the car and get money back.... If it was used at the time of purchase then the dealer usually gets fined and refunds you the penalty plus the difference of what you paid and what you should have paid.

Unless it was just a filing error (which is what gets claimed alot, makes the process drag out longer). Happens alot here in Miami, too many mom and pop car sales places.... just not as mom and pop'y.

Hopefully b16sir1991 will be able to get you some more info...

How many miles did your car have when you got it. It could have been a factory problem that somebody on a test drive found, as far as the name on it who knows what happend there.

I really would keep the SVT but it has so many problems now that if I did what I wanted to do with it(Turbo or S/C), I think it would fall apart. This car goes to the dealership so much that the tech came up to me today and said he is really sick of seeing this car and I should talk to a lemon lawyer.

Turbozetez: On the oasis report is says 33 miles. But the dealership was in silver spring, md and I am in ambler, Pa. They drove the car to me for free so I am not sure how many miles it had when I actually got it.

Another possibility is that someone bought your car then the deal fell through and they forgot to tell Ford. Not very likely, though....

b16... think you could run my VIN? I'm curious about mine because mine had quite a few miles on it when I bought it (it did sit on the lot for a while though). I never had any problems with my car other than a broken air box...

Don't know about MD, but NY is hard on that kind of stuff. A dealership in Albany got pounded more than once by the Att Gen office... the owner of the dealership would put several hundred miles on a car (I think the one I heard about was about 600) and then sell it as new, but the paperwork said used... somehow that effected the warranty (transfer or something). Idiot didn't learn the first time and got a cease and desist order slapped on him... I think he also had to upgrade the warranty on the cars sold, or take the car back on the buyers choice...
