steeda sts for svt

What are your opinions on it as far as feel, precision, play, etc. Also, is the shaft a lot shorter then the stock one? I have read that the height is not much different then stock. Can anyone clarify? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated. On a side note, is the Ford racing one the same as the Steeda tri-ax? There is a big price difference and I don't know if the FR one sacrifices quality for the price but I have heard that they are similar.

FRPP & Steeda = same thing..........there are a bunch of threads on this.....even a how to.....

do a search......

everyone says it is a good feel, 5th and 6th feel a little farther away, and reverse is a lil' harder to get in, thats basically what I've found. also it's been recommended that you get the rear motor mount before the STS, cause the STS will make the engine movement more pronounced under hard shifting

like haveblue said, those 2 are the same part and I believe it's cheeper to buy it through Ford Racing. Anyway, it ia a VERY noticable improvement over stock! I absolutely love mine, the feel, the precision, make the car even more fun to drive! I highly recommend that mod, and do the lower mount while your at it for an even better feel! Go with the Mac Snubber or the VF mount, stear clear of the inserts. I have them and they suck IMO, the large one refuses to stay put and work's it's way out of the dogbone.

The Mac Snubber is significantly cheaper than the VF rear mount, what's the difference?
And will it also fit a Duratec 2.3L?

2 thumbs up for the STS. Its something that every SVTF owner should do along with the rear motor mount. Height is apporx 2 inches lower IIRC.

Talking STS

mcnews is selling the STS for $81.00 +shipping etc... most sell the rear mount for 99and some change. i tried my local dealer who had to call a ford racing dealer, the price was not bad but they tried to tell me shipping was $20 and on top of that local taxes. try on-line its you best bet.

So does the rear motor mount do exactly and how does it help? I hear that it improves the shift from 1st to 2nd, but it also causes more vibration. How much more vibration will ther e be with the motor mount and the STS?

I am trying to get ideas for how the shifting will feel as far as ease of shifting, play, etc. compared to the stock getrag after installing just the Steeda/FR STS.

Then, I was wondering how that feeling would be different by installing the rear motor mount and then the STS. I hope that all made sense.
