SVT Rattle at take off

Like the subject says, I get a metalic rattle when I take off in 1st. ORP, so I know it isn't the heat shield on the cat.

I suspect the heat shield on the exhaust. It has some visible cracks. Is it just the 4 screws that hold it on or is there something else?

My second guess would be a worn motor mount, but I'm not sure how to check that...any suggestions. I don't think it is the rear mount as it is aftermarket.

Gary

2 things:

Sometimes when you lug first gear on takeoff, the hood rattles on the latch.

Broken bracket that attaches to exhaust and car frame, around 1800rpm.

Strangely enough, another thread made me think of a problem I had similar to this. My intakes cone filter end was slightly touching the metal of the car and when the engine would start going it would clink and clank against the metal, I just moved it up a little bit and it fixed the problem.

I get a rattle at about 2000 rpms, but it seems like it comes from inside the car.

I just finally figured out the rattling problem I have been having. It is indeed a broken bracket. Only the heat and rust caused this? Anyone else have this happen to them? Is it covered by the warranty?

That, and cheap Ford parts...it is covered under the 3/36 warranty, but any local shop could fix it for less than $50.
