New Getrag for me too!

This whole thing started with my car not wanting to go in to gear around the end of December. I was leaving the mall and the shifter felt like there was something blocking it from getting into the lower gears.(1st didn't work at all) After a frustrating drive home with many choice words directed towards my car, I prayed that I hadn't killed my transmission. I woke up the next morning ready to do battle with my tranny again to find that all was well.(Or so I thought) My car was shifting fine and I had no problems getting to work. Leaving work that day, I realized that my speedo wasn't working anymore. I feared that if I took it in, the dealer would say that it was my fault and tell me I was outta luck. So I put off taking it in until last Thursday when I just couldn't stand not having a speedo or cruise control anymore. I took it to the service department at Prestige Ford in Edmond and told them what was up. They put me in a rental (No questions asked and I'm only 19) and said they'd look at it. Called me the next day to tell me that they would have to take the transmission apart to see what was up. Didn't hear anything until they called me today to tell me that my car was ready. The service tech tells me that they got everything fixed and the speedo is working fine now but they had to replace the transmission and they fixed the flywheel chatter with a new flywheel. ( At this point I'm trying to suppress the grin of realizing that I just got a brand new tranny in my car) He tells me sorry about the inconvenience and that the secretary has my keys and paperwork.

Total Cost - $0

Gotta love that SVT warranty.

Man did I luck out. . .

Putting just a new flywheel in will cause problems. You have to change a lot of parts that go along with the flywheel.

What's better than getting a new tranny?

Not needing one, because it doesn't fail!

See this quote from Clutch TSB: 4-21-19
Quote:
NOTE: THE REVISED FLYWHEEL, CLUTCH DISC AND PRESSURE PLATE ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PRODUCTION LEVEL CLUTCH COMPONENTS. DO NOT INTERCHANGE OR MIX.
I hope they didn't put in one of the original flywheels.
They shouldn't even be available anymore.

He definitely said the revised flywheel but I don't know about the other parts. I'm going to call the dealer and ask about it.
