Unhappy revised pressure plate

Well I was out letting a friend drive My Svt since I was not allowed behind a wheel... we had a bit of fun few things here and there.... but half way home it stopped moving and it would not go anymore... I checked to make sure that the shifter ball joint was on the transmission. so I got it to the dealership and they looked at it today and have parts ordered and it was the pressure plate that gave out.... and now they have a revised version of it and had it on ordered with a trow out bearing. The sad thing is I only have 34000 on it and most are highway.. think warranty will cover it????

It's a common problem, and if they're a decent Dealer, they will cover it.
Related thread to answer your "revised version" pressure plate question...>>>Clutch TSB: 4-21-19
It wouldn't hurt to print out the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) and show that to the Service Advisor.
You should end up not only with a new pressure plate, but the clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder.

EDIT:
You might highlight this portion of the TSB if they insist on only replacing the pressure plate:
Quote:
NOTE: THE REVISED FLYWHEEL, CLUTCH DISC AND PRESSURE PLATE ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PRODUCTION LEVEL CLUTCH COMPONENTS. DO NOT INTERCHANGE OR MIX.

I hope that was just fast fingers, and you actually meant 4-21-19.

And, you're welcome.
Let us know how it turns out.

well WD I was going by Mem... I had the printout in front of me at time of phone call.
I called them today and mad sure that he had more then though out bearing and preussre plate on order. I asked him what Tsb are you following so he told me as it was the new one and I read the note off to him. that you can't mix them new plate means new flywheel and clutch and he ratteled off all that was on order as I checked them off. hehe

He made the comment that every time a SVT comes in for service that they know they better be on thier toes, cause WE as owners do take pride in our rides...
thanks again I should have it tomorrow night if all goes well. I will let you know
I will be glad truck eats 18 gals of gas in 2 days as 4 days on a tank on focus

Well I got my car back with out any charge, but the check engine light was on. it all felt normal and without having a rental car I decied to take it and run it back tomorrow when I get a car.
How many have had this TSB done? does the clutch grab all at once or could mine just still need adjusted?
I was real happy they even washed it for me.

I figure it is something simple, and the never seem concerned any other time it comes on. as it could be a monday not to get me in till friday with the dang light on

well I finally got my car back a week and a half later after my pressure plate let loose on me. I had a bad cat monitor that came on while it was in the shop so the tech figured he would just fix the clutch and nothing else but he see it was on. what a idoit. well I was glad I was so lucky cause I paid nothing but to put gas in the retails. Clutch feels so much different now.
