Went to Tommie Vaughn to order parts

I went to Tommie Vaughn...the country's largest Ford Racing dealer and ordered some parts for the car. I ordered the FRPP wires in red, the FRPP STS, and some black Ford racing floormats. All they had for the Focus were Ford Racing mats in th 06 catalogue. Anyway my question was, is it necessary to do the VF mount with the STS or can I get by with just the STS for now? Like should I hold off on installing it and order the VF mount thinggy or whatever its called? Also I was up under the car today adding washers, and it definitely quieted down the rattle and there is a tad left. Can I run the car without heat shields? Will it just make the cabin or engine bay warmer? The Cobra's don't have them and I doubt the SVTFs generate more heat from the engine and exhaust. Sorry if I compare the SVTF to stangs too much, but stangs are all I know. This was my first time to even crawl under an SVTF this evening. So much to learn!

02 Infrared SVTF-ORP,FR STS, FR wires, 180t-stat,K&N-basically stock!

i know the feeling, 18 months ago the only engine's i'd ever played with were AMC and Ford 5.0's

you don't HAVE to do the VF mount alongside the shifter, it just makes sense because they compliment each other so nicely. Having one at a time will still be a lovely improvement. As for the heat shield, I don't have the foggiest since mine hasn't rusted through the bolts and started rattling at me yet ^_^
