tick tick tick tick

ok i know the cams on the svt are loud, but ive gotta ask about the Tick Tick Tick Tick sound at idle. When i press the clutch in, the ticking sounds stops. the car runs fine but that sound is getting on my nervs. Should the ticking stop when I press the clutch, or is it something i should be concerned about ?? and Yes i keep the oil changed. Just gets kinda annoying when im in a drive through and all you hear is TICK TICK TICK TICK lol

Is it a "tick" or a light "knock"? If its a tick, its probably the throw-out bearing. If its a light knock, its probably the flywheel. Depending on the miles on the car, you may still be eli. for the tsb, but being an '02, youre probably out of warranty. If you need all these pieces, i have all of them new for the tsb. I am selling all the pieces (flywheel, clutch assembly, bolts, slave cyl, dowel pins) for the update, PM me if you want these. They retail for over $800 but you can get mine a ton cheaper.

I have that same tick, even after the TSB was completed, from what i got it only does it when the car is cold. The clutch feels great but just a slight ticking sound when clutch is out, then press pedal and it goes away.

The clutch is starting to slip, so that very well may be wut the ticking sound is. I just never would have thought the clutch would make a sound like that. It was making the sound when i bought the car, so i didnt know if it was normal for svt or not. Ive got just over 32k miles on the car. Is the tsb only covered for the 30k warrenty ?

I have a cyclic mechanical ticking noise as well; I can hear it at idle and under light accel before it gets covered by exhaust/engine/intake noise, it scales with engine speed, I've been told before and believe its just the noisy valve train and/or fuel injectors we have. I've chaulked it up to another SVT quirk, but I've been wrong before.

90% of the "ticking" noise we hear is either valve train or injector pulse related. I still hear it in my SVT after all the work that we've done to it.
