rattle while car is warming up

I have had this rattle on my SVT since I bought it used in August. I thought it was the CAT Shield so since i plan on taking the CAT out completly I figured I would take off the shield now. So I took the shield off and the car still rattles. Any Ideas?

Check the exhaust pipe right behind the oil pan.

I just fixed a rattle (on a cold engine) on my car and it turned out to be the bracket that connects the exhaust pipe to the engine block. I found it by crawling under the car (when it was cooled off) and kept hitting the cat with my fist until I closed in on the rattle

I ended up putting a 1" washer under one of the bolts, which basically provided a wider clamping area, and that stopped my rattle.

I've got the same freaking rattle on mine now...after ripping off the stinking heat shield, the buzz was still there. I pinpointed it to the bracket connecting the Catalytic Converter to the frame of the car. I hate it. I want it to die. I want to kill it.

I'm in the process now of trying to find a fix for it. Let me know if you find anything!

Mine has started to get a rattle when cold too, I suspect the upper cat shield. I am going to remove it and check that bracket Hamrhead mentioned.

I'll try to explain as best I can.

Like I said, behind the oil pan, there is a bracket that connects the exhaust pipe to the engine block. If you look up there, it looks like a flat piece of steel (Mine had surface rust) with a couple of bolts in it that looks (to me) like it's butted up against another flat piece of steel(bracket). The bolts are put in from the top side of the bracket. I pulled the bolt closest to the passenger's side of the car, put a 1" washer under it, and tightened it back up. I was able to get my hand up there relatively easily, with a ratchet/socket, and pull the bolt.

From what I could tell, the washer was big enough to overlap where the two flat steel brackets were butted together. So when I tightened it down it sort-of holds them together. What I do know is it worked perfect - my car's exhaust is rattle-free now.

I wish I would've taken a picture, but I failed to do so. If we ever get some decent weather maybe I'll try to get one.

R/T Hi-flow cat solved all my rattling woes, and got me more power to boot..

However, before getting that, the dealer did have to fix that bracket on the stock cat as well (was under warranty)
