squeel, then rattle, what is it?

i know this should probably go in the technical chat but since i have a svt i wanted other svt owners to read this and try to help. i did a search but i couldn't find anything similar.

i just noticed this yesterday driving home from work. it only happens from 1800-2000rpms. i rev it up to 1800 and there's this squeel like it's the belts or something then i go up a little higher and it makes a rattle vibrating sound. it only happens from 1800-2000rpms. i don't think it's the belts, it's coming from the intake manifold area but i can't see anything moving for the vibration sound and i can't really tell where exactly the squeel is coming from, just that it's in the intake manifold area.

it's still under warranty so i will be taking it to the dealer but i have to wait until monday, unfortunately, but i was just wondering if anyone might know what it is or what it could be.

thanks

It could be the upper portion of the heat shield. Mine is loose and the bottom has been tightened up. I get the rattle too. I'm thinking of just removing both shields, but I am afraid that my generate alot of heat?

yeah but what about the squeel? i doubt the heat shield is making a squeeling sound too. i can see how the heat shield can rattle if it's loose, but the squeel and rattle is coming from the same problem. they're happening like at the same time

solution... get an orp and avoid excessive heat build up... no cat, no insanity, no problem

as long as your state doesnt do a vis inspection.

i have 22000 miles on it. BTW, i think that it might have to do with the heat shield. the bottom part fell off a couple months ago. maybe it's the top part? it sounds like that could be rattling but how about the squeel? the squeel and the rattle are definately coming from the same place. i just don't understand why the cat would make a squeeling noise. i'll be taking it to the dealer probably tomorrow so hopefully i'll find out.
