the PATS tranceiver signal is the radio signal sent by your key to the Passive Anti Theft System. if you're setting that code, then either your PCM doesn't recognize the key you used to try to start your car, or your key has gone bad. it could also be the transceiver itself (sensor mounted around the ignition cylinder on the steering column) gone bad. good luck

Have you loaded an aftermarket tune in recently?
And, you pulled fuses 46 and 61?
I've gotten the same thing after loading a tune.
Fuse 61 is the PATS system...that would explain the code.
FYI, I understand "B" prefix, as in "B"1681 is a "Body" code.

Sure won't. Take the plastics off your steering column and see if it came unplugged. Probably not, but it's worth a shot to check.

btw, both keys you got when you bought the car should be PATS keys.

wow, loaded my tune today and I had the same code, but no CEL, I had a CEL about a week ago but I think it was because the gas cap wasn't on tight. I doubt that code would still be in there though.

^^^It'll most likely stay in there till you clear it.^^^
Though, (at least on mine) it never threw a CEL.

please tell me that if i remove the PATS fuse, it will allow a non-PATS key to start the car? prolly not, but i can hope
Nope. Sorry.
In fact, it won't start at all, as it kills the whole ignition circuit.
That's why you pull it when loading tunes, so you don't accidentally start the car during the process.

clear it and see if it comes back...if it does, check the sensor in the steering column
