engine light problem with Magnaflow Catback

Has anyone had the engine light problem with Magnaflow Catback
exhaust on the 2002 Focus SVT application

The Ford service just called me and said I would have to replace
the whole exhaust system to get this idiot light to go out?????

Is there any other fixes for this? As I under stand it the resonator
that was installed with the magnaflow catback system is delivering false
information or incorrect feedback to the computer

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Barry

HAHAHAHAHA Ford trying to make a Buck. You're Cat-back exhaust should have nothing to do with false reading for any sensor. Maybe just the exhaust is more free flowing, that's about it. There's no Sensors what-so-ever after the flex pipe. Did they atleast tell you the code they were getting off the computer? If not, i suggest going to Advance Auto, Auto Zone, or Pep Boys, whoever has free diagonistic service and get what the code is there. Seems to me like a fualty 02 sensor, but without knowing what the code is it's hard to say. The isn't acting funny or anything is it? Any decrease in gas mileage?

i actually had an issue w/ my check engine light randomly coming on for about a week or so, maybe longer (??). it eventually just went away on its own. i never replaced my exhaust or my O2 sensors. idk if there's a correlation between the magnaflow exhaust and this problem or if it's just a coincidence.

Cat Converter is missing

Ford service told me the Cat converter has been removed and somekind of false sensor was put in there to fool the computer
and that those don't work but half the time???
It runs pretty strong but seems to have a little miss between 2000 and 3000 rpms
sounds good but that pesty light comes on some times and then next time I drive it it might go out.
Just bought this car used about 3 weeks ago so don't know the history
but am finding things out slowly
not sure if good or bad
Also has the Blue AEM cold air intake setup but for a daily driver not sure if
that will be a problem
I read that anyone who plans to use this intake in rainy weather should either invest in AEM's bypass valve, or remove the intake and reinstall the factory setup during the winter months. Otherwise you risk serious engine damage from hydrolock, a condition caused by the intake funneling water into the cylinders (the filter does sit very close to the ground)

Thanks
I will take it to advanced and get the code from them
