Just took my car in to get lots of TSB love

So I took my SVT in today to get some dealership TSB love done to it.

1. I have a noise that is RPM specific, and sounds like marbles in the clutch housing... Exactly what the TSB states it should sound like. The chief mechanic didnt seem too sold on that. he deffinitely heard something but couldnt ID what it was. They are going to look at it. I explained to the mechanic when we were doing a test drive that "I really want to make sure that if theres a problem we get it fixed now because my warranty dies in 3 months... " He was sympathetic I think.

2. Some issues getting into 1st now and then, and stiffness in the shift linkages. He said he will look into that. and agreed that all the geers felt a bit clunky. There is a TSB for the linkages.

3. The rear suspension noise TSB is being looked at. The nice poping and bumping noises while doing low speed turns.

4. The always fun Leaking anti freeze from the thermostat housing thing is being taken care of.

5. Getting the stock flash upgraded to YRF0. (not that it matters much since I do have an Xcal2 but I would like the stock flash to be driveable unlike the RLA1 PCM.

For a rental they gave me a 2005 Focus ZX4 w/ 7 miles on it. Not bad.

I'm going for the YFR0 update next week myself. Let's just say I'm being "cautiously optimistic" about the results.

the stock tune on the RLA1 is HORRID. I went back to the stock before taking it in... holy crap was it bad driving it to the dealership. The Hypnotic tune I have on normally is 100% better than the stock tune.

It is worth it. Mine is much better after it. Cured the stalling, which was my biggest problem.

You pre-04 SVT owners are lucky. Us 04 SVT owners have no newer flash from the factory.

So I got a call back mid last week saying that they are replacing the shifter linkages(cables), rear suspension bits to remove some knocking, reflashing the ECU and testing for some driveability issues that the mechanic is seeing, and then they are taking the console apart to see if that noise that I have is something the gauge cluster. they dont think the noise is the dual mass flywheel having issues they think it something else.

So its been about a week now tomorrow, Ive put 400 miles on the rental car. And to my dismay, a 2005 Duratec 2.0L Focus ZX4 gets ~ the same milage as my focus SVT does. thats sad. I thought the new duratecs were supposed to be gods gift for fuel economy, etc... This thing drinks it like theres a hole in the gas tank. (similar to the SVT, but the SVT I am way harder on since its fun. This is lifeless, and booring... so I dont get on it much...

well turns out that the rattle noise wasnt the clutch >:(

it was the oil pressure gauge. So they are replacing that.
