I got a new one when my clutch TSB was done.
The input shaft splines were a bit worn, but not bad.
I just lucked out with a great Dealership and Mechanic that thought it best to replace sooner rather than later.

Sorry, no help on the HP tolerance though.

I got the shaft IMO, when they did the TSB on mine, I told them I was having a problem with first not going all the way in all the time and that is was hard to get into first after I have been sitting at a light with foot off the clutch, then I push in the clutch and try to put it in first that sometimes it wont go in at all or its real hard and that sometimes it grinds but they put it back in and I still have those problems to this day, only worse, especially with the grinding crap. Also when I am rolling up to a stop sign, I ease it into first just as I am coming to a stop and the damn thing will grind, very annoying. I even took it back after the TSB and they tell me there is nothing wrong with it ,,,, what ever. OK, rant over. lol

Getrag info...

I contacted Getrag in Germany regarding the special transmission fluid in the SVT Focus. They gave me a Castrol part number for the fluid, Castrol BOT 130 M. After contacting Castrol, their response is Ford dealers in the US are the only source for this particular fluid. It's unusual for an automotive fluid being sold only through car dealers (unless it's for a vehicle something like a Ferrari Enzo). The SVT Focus must be one of a very limited number of vehicles that uses this special transmission fluid.
