rarity of svt focus

so i came across that only 14000 svt focus' are made, does that make it one of the rarer specialty cars around? like how many srt4s are made? how many cobalt ss's? or even how many corvettes are made? i do think that hte svt contour got us beat though, correct me if im wrong on any of these, im babbling without researching.

There are a lot more rare cars around. 14,000 is still considered pretty many but as the years go by and more are wrecked then it will become harder to find. As far as the SVTF becoming a collector's piece...not gonna happen .

Neither one of those are Ford production vehicles. Not trying to discredit them as vehicles but they are what they are, aftermarket productions.

I don't think the SVTF will ever be considered a collector vehicle though it will always have a small cult following. Those of us who own one know the special feel that many others will never understand. Nor will they ever have the desire to understand. Kind of like the sicker you see on a Jeep "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand"
Geeze, I get 39MPG, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, free loaner car, wash and vacuum when in for service, and a butt load of smiles and driving pleasure every time I drive this Screaming Yellow little car.
As for the Saleen and Roush, these are specialty after-market brand names which really offer little more than a rebadged off the assembly line vehicle. Throw in some seats, decals, gauge overlays, maybe some suspension upgrades, body kit, and a NOS kit which cannot be used without voiding the warranty of the car and you have a Focus that doesn't provide the performance and handling of a SVTF.

SRT-4 was only made for 3 years for a total of 24,930 cars. (my contribution to your research)

A little over 37,000 corvettes will be produced for the 2005 model year.

This is very interesting. This has got to be one of the more rare production cars around. Like some said it probably won't ever be much of a collector's item except to the people that know a lot about them. I have to say though.....I feel more special than a corvette owner

Although they were produced in smaller numbers than other speciallty cars you mentioned there, if you look around you will see they are quite easy to find, so I'm not sure rare is an accurate description. To further your research ouikikazz, some SVTF's were produced in larger quantities than others. Example your 2002 Infra Red is one of 1025 just like it produced in 02. But there are some later ones like the 2004 5DR Infra Red with Euro Appearance package of which there were only 29 produced just like it.
