Nothing but Mobil 1 5w-30 goes in my car. How in the world are you going 8,000 miles on an oil change???? I start panicing and thinking I might have hurt the engine if it goes 1 mile over 3,000 even with the Mobil 1.

The SVT Owners Manual Supplement states:
Motorcraft 5W30 Super Premium Motor Oil
meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C205-A

Yes, the above is a semi-synthetic motor oil,
which is most commonly found at Wally World of all places.

Me, I just switched from Mobil-1 5W-30 to Royal Purple 5W-30.
And, I'm liking the results so far.
My gas mileage has increased by almost 2mpg for the first tank.

There is no way in hell I would ever go 8-10k miles on ANY kind of oil. I use Mobil 1 10W-30 every 2800 miles with Motorcraft FL-2005 oil filters. I wouldn't even go 5000 miles with that new 15k Mobil 1 oil. NEVER NEVER NEVER! Oil is meant to be changed every 3000 miles period.

How often do you change your oil Doug?

I am using Castrol Syntec full synthetic and motorcraft filter and changing both every 4000 miles. If I were using conventional oil I would change it every 3000 miles but synthetic oil doesn't break down nearly as fast as regular oil so you can leave it in a little longer but I don't go over 4K miles.

Same as you. Right around 4,000 miles (give or take) once I switched from the MotorCraft to fully synthetic.
