Bought my 1st SVT

Well I couldn't afford a mustang GT (or a cobra for that matter), so I found a 2002 Red SVT focus for sale. It has 23000 miles on it and completely stock. I looking forward to driving and spending my hard earn money on it. I will get pictures on soon. This is pretty cool website, probably spend more time on this website than I should be.

Congrats!

I'm sure you'll fall in love with the car as we all (on this site) have...

Thanks guys.....Yeah I had 2000 GT and it was sweet off the line. Driving the Focus just from the dealership.... I can already tell the differences. It may not be as quick but it sure does stick to the road. The interior is a hell a lot better.

What should be the first mod??

Yep I had a Stang too as well as many other Focus owners here. I used to own my focus as well but I have moved on but i still miss it sometimes . The Focus just felt so much more fun to drive then the stang. I would like to tell you which mod to get first but I never was lucky enough to have an SVT so it is different a little bit more. I will let one of the SVT veterans tell you!!

Good choice.

BTW, this is better off in the SVT Owners Lounge, since we're not talking Performance here...

And, we want pics!

we could be talking performance since he asked what the first mod should be. i recomend the Xcalbrator2 of coarse, Steeda STS, and an AEM Cold air intake. You really don't need to concern yourself over the exhaust but if you are going to get that done i would talk to Wayne (Hypillauto) and check out his forum. you're sure to get similar responses on this matter.

Here's what mommy should have told you to do when you downshift:
1. Step on the clutch
2. Simultaneously slide the shifter into a lower gear and give the throttle a quick, amazingly precise jab to rev the engine to exactly the rpm it needs to be at in the next gear
3. Quickly let out the clutch

Oh sure, It takes a few thousand tries before you get the timing and precision of your jab just right, but the reward is that you no longer suck.

Congrats!

I'd say the first mod that has power and sound appeal is the R/T Hi-flow cat. Followed closely by a Cold Air Kit (AEM is good, but there are others out there too)

Have fun with it. I think if you are a fan of driving(beyond just in a straight line), you'll enjoy it better than a mustang GT.
