Impressions of the ORP

Grabbed a used FC ORP offa this site...
Put it on the other day...
New gaskets and Stainless hardware ran like $40 total..
Im feeling like I wasted my $140..
Still have a stock cat-back btw.

Its loud, too loud at WOT for my liking...and too ricey for my liking, seriously sounds like every other riced out 4banger that goes by. For 4hp its DEFINATELY not worth it.
Im definately not seeing much of a gain out of it (between the K&N drop-in along with the custom ground wires I saw MORE then the ORP.) It honestly feel like the car LOST torque and gained very little hp up top.

Anyone have their car tuned THEN put on a ORP and have the car retuned?
How much of a differnce did you see?

RT high-flow might be my answer!

It really sounds like we are driving two totally different cars. Yes the sound sucks and is best suited for the road course or track but the performance is so there. By far my favorite part despite its shortcomings like sound, smell, and build quality. Its weird that you didn't notice a gain with the ORP but did with a K&N drop in

I didn't notice that. What I did notice was pulling harder especially on the 1-2 shift. I have never chirped tires in the SVT because I don't get into it that hard but my test run with the ORP I chirped the hell out of it in places that I never had before. The car was quicker getting up to 130 also.

Yeah I was pretty turned off with the sound of the ORP, so I'm going to have to go with the R/T high flow.

The first time I jumped in the car with the ORP installed, it felt slightly faster, and I ripped tires 2nd-3rd without even trying...which kinda shocked me cause Its like I really need to toss the gear hard to get 2-3 to spin.

You never chirped 1-2? lol..damn
I noticed ALOT MORE with the ground straps+K&N...

i believe that you do lose some low end tq and that most of the gains are seen up high

Lol, yeah. I could tell the clutch was suspect from day one so I always make an effort to be kinda, sorta, gentle with it

I have the R/T HiFlow, and I think it sounds pretty good. A little raspy til it warms up, but otherwise, a nice tone, and definate improvement on the low and high end. I'm really happy with the choice, although it was a lot more money over what you paid (double, actually)

I haven't driven with an ORP, but I have ridden in a friends SVT with one, it seemed a bit 'tinnier' sounding, not horrible, but definately sounded different than mine does. I can't comment on perf gains on his car, since I didn't drive it before/after.

i like the orp. the top end SCREAMS (in a good way) and sounds sweet with the borla exhaust. pretty easy swap, too a little over an hour the first time. i haven't put the stock cat back in, but do plan on getting a hi flow cat next spring. i did notice a little bit of a drop in low end tq, but not enough to make a big difference. it still rips and purrs even under 4k rpms.

you did reset your ecu right?
