SVTF running way rich?

I do not have all the details of what is up but apparently the car is registering rich enough to trigger CEL's over and over again. Been kind of working on this issue with an SVT team of mechanics at one of the places where the car is. The only info I'm getting is from my girl and she isn't the best at giving me the technical details of what's going on but from what has been told to me it's running over a 10 whatever that means and is still tripping CEL's.

The cool news is that they ruled out through testing that my after markets, the intake and T/B being culprits. The exhaust system checks out fine, MAF was replaced as well as the O2's. The mechanics seem to be at a loss and have mentioned a possible new computer needing to be installed on the car. Kind of wierd but ok. Any idea of what can cause these cars to run extremely rich? Sorry I don't have any codes or data to offer up, I'm working on getting in touch with the lead mechanic on e-mail to get the stuff that my wife is perhaps missing.

This is kind of getting me a little nervous about the car. Probably not a big deal in the long run but being that the mech. guys are stumped has me worried you know.

Before I read the whole post, I was going to say a loose intake...mine threw a CEL a few weeks ago. I read the code at AutoZone and got a rich reading...retightened everything, reset the ECU, and everything was great!

Hope they get it fixed, maybe that fine woman of yours can work a little of her magic to get the Ford Team to move a little quicker...........nevermind, she'll probably just distract them and they'll throw a wrench in your tranny...

Yeah, I was thinking intake too but that's not it. They cleared all the codes last week after giving everything a check for installation, no leaks. Now the ran the stock intake & T/B and it's still bastard assed rich. The only thing I could get over the phone is that at whatever level ten is the CEL activates and it's apparently operating well above that. The car is well inside warranty so I have noe concerns there, just a little miffed that this is going on and I'm stuck over here not able to get involved in figuring out the problem.

So before anyone post that it's the intake or T/B know up front that the problem continues to exist with the stock system in place. Not much good asking for advice without codes but I figured it was worth a shot.

Does your wife occasionally start it up, drive it around, and whatnot? Or has it been sitting there with the same fuel since January?

It's driven on occasion, let's say 2-4 times a week. Fuel isn't the issue or rather shouldn't be. This is going to get interesting I'm sure in the end.

Lol, trust me a tune is on the shopping list but I will need the car 100% straight before I go with one. And injectors, seems like that would throw it's own CEL, something that points to them? I don't have codes yet but I'm working on it

injectors don't always throw fault codes, in fact they usually don't. have the dealership datalog the PCM, they can send the log to the specialists at SVT. I know there was someone on FF who was having some issues (different ones than you) with his car, he had his dealership set him up with a "flight recorder" for him to datalog every time his issues occurred and SVT developed a new PCM calibration specifically for his vehicle. I don't know if the calibration is at fault, or if it's a faulty computer, but the guys at SVT should be able to analyze the log file better than the mechanics at your dealership, and figure out what the problem is
