There was a Black SVTF on here with a very clean dual exhaust set-up. I'll look to see if I can find it.....

i see. I knowit can be done, and i really doubt there will be much power loss with the use of a Y connector wielded in. That link on that other thread didnt work. i would like to see how it is routed under the car. anyone have pics ?

Does anyone know why all cars made these days have to have this symetry of a dual exhaust? What's the advantage of having a dual exhaust in general?

Most car companies use dual exhaust tips as a marketing device because we Americans are accustomed to seeing dual tips on a performance car....ala 60's muscle.

Some cars DO have a true dual exhaust system and it is necessary to get enough flow without resorting to a huge single pipe that wouldn't be easy to fit under the car.

So, unless you have a packaging problem, a single pipe of sufficient diameter to flow what needs to be flowed will produce the same power.

And remember, the flow is restricted by the smallest section of the pipe system. If you have a single pipe back to dual tips, it won't be any different (other than styling) than a single exit.

I think dual exhaust looks cooler than grapefruit launchers typically found on rice mobiles.

yea true that, but our cars don't have the need for "grapefruit launchers" so I was just wondering what the big hype was for symetry. I was actually looking at the borla exhaust that exits out the center. Thought that was pretty cool

this may sound dumb but why not just put a exhaust tip on the right side this way u dont loose horsepower and it still looks good.

Sunfire GT's come with fake dual exhausts. It looks terrible, you can obviously tell that one is fake, it just shimmies everywhere over bumps, and in the winter, when one pipe blows out visible smoke, and the other doesn't, looks even worse.
