OEM SVT Exhaust???

I know a guy who got a new exhuast for his svt, and is willing to sell me his OEM one. He can give me a really good deal on it as well. But question is, will this be worth getting. I know it sounds pretty good on a svt focus, but i do not have svt headers, so i dont know if itll sound good on the stock zx3. Also will the svt focus exhaust give me any horsepower gains. Thanks guys get back to me as soon as possible. The guy said someone else was making an offer but he said hell keep it for me for a week or so so i can think about it. Thanks

I don't believe it will fit correctly anyway as the rear section is different plus I don't know how it will bolt up at the cat/flex as it's a different diameter. It is possible though but may need some work to get it to line up and bolt up properly.

It's the same idea as how you can run a SVT BORLA on a NON SVT.

I don't think you'll get much gains at all, nothing significant anyway. For the price, I'd save the cash and get a good aftermarket catback for your car.

the svt exhaust is well designed and dosent really need to be changed on the svt. so i would imgine that it would be good on a zx3. i would think it would produce some gains. as far as how it would sound without the svt headers i dont know. the one thing to be careful with is to my knowledge the only way to get the oem exhaust system off is to cut it in half.

Ok i just reread your post s2, the edited one. But i can get this for really cheap. I didnt want to say it, but its off ebay, the bid right now is 10bucks...with 40 bucks shipping....so that is cheap...although theres only one bidder, and that bidder is quincidently focussalvage...id assume thats the same focussalvage we all know so i dont even know if id win. But before i placed a bid i wanted to know if i should. I dont want to dump loads of money into my car...and if the exhaust gives me alittle gain and a nice sporty tone, then it is worth it too me. If it was going to cost me 100 or more i wouldnt bother...but since its the price it is i figured its worth a shot. Oh yea also yes its cut so welding would have to be done. If i do end up getting, do you think i could just bring it to midas and they will make it fit properly and all that without them being clueless, also how much do you think they would charge me to have it put on? Thanks

i am sure that it can be welded up and with a little creativity you should be able to come up with a flange systemt that would make it work

OK, I see why you duplicated this here,
but not many SVT owner's are going to be able to help you with fabrication and installation questions.

If anyone has any further comments, please post them in the original thread in the ZETEC Performance Chat.

Thanks.
