new headers

I eventually would like to replace my entire exhaust, headers to tailpipe. But my question is: would I have install everything at the same time, ex. could I see any gains by installing JUST headers? Also, what order would you guys reccomend I install everything (I plan on buying steeda racing headers, steeda hi-flow cat, and either borla or magnaflow cat-back)? Thanks in advance.

hey man, whats crackalackin. well for the header, SVTF's already have the best header you can get for them, svt specially designed the header that comes on the car for that engine, and the exhaust they say the only one you really see a difference in is the hypnotic and i believe it was a .3 off your 1\4 time was the difference wich is pretty good, they say changing the exhaust is mainly for a different tone, and that why i changed mine, i have straight pipe hooked to an apexi N1 exhaust and man does it sound mean. hope this helps, please somebody correct me if im wrong.

Yes, keep the factory header, it's the best your going to get. I believe the only way your going to see a marginal gain is by going with a ORP (which I wouldn't recommend, it's illegal and it allows the car to pollute 20 times as much) or a hi-flow cat. As far as a cat-back, I personally don't see how one could drop .3 seconds off 1/4 mile time but maybe it does. The 3 main choices are Borla, Magnaflow and Hypnotics. Since I have never heard any of those, I can't honestly recommend one or the other but I am leaning toward the Magnaflow myself with a hi-flow cat, I can get the Magnaflow for $250 from one of my vendors :-)

I would keep the stock header and depending on what kind of tone you want either 1.) Keep your stock exhaust and just get an off-road pipe and a different muffler or 2.) Go with Catback and get the offroad pipe anyway.

If you keep the stock header, just get it Jet Coated. It gives it that pretty shine like the off-road header and so it doesnt have that rusty look to it. Get the RT High-flow Cat and MBRP, that should turn some heads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
