Went back to stock tune, got CEL and no brakes!?!?

This one is an oddy!

Over the last week, my SVTF has been running "heavy", meaning when I transition from on to off throttle, it felt like the engine was slopping around in the engine compartment. I made a post in the lounge and both WD40 and Hypnotic believed it to be my rear engine mount; sounded sensible to me.

I looked into getting an aftermarket rear engine mount but I'm only 22 months into my warranty, and my wife didn't want me to spend money on a warranty issue.

I make an appointment to have it checked out on Monday, I flash my ECU back to the stock tune and . . . my car throws a CEL and runs rough. I chug up my street and come to a stop and my brake pedel is a ROCK, no vacuum boost at all. I check the tach and the engine IS running. I head back home, roll into the garage expecting to hear a nasty hissing sound from a vacuum leak but it's just my engine idling, a little labored but idiling.

THE WEIRD PART:

My car did NOT have a CEL with the Hypnotic tune and ran acceptably well, no CEL, brakes etc. The stock tune immediately threw a CEL, ran awful and the brakes . . . well.

I know that a tune changes some of the parameters under which the engine would normally operate and, I'm guessing, there are times where a CEL would need to be ignored. Damn weird.

I'll update you tomorrow after the dealer has a look at my car; presuming I don't kill myself on the way over to the shop.

Hey, did you clear the computer before flashing it? if not, try that before driving it again. It might be getting screwed up by the long term fuel trims being way off from what it is expecting to see. Just a thought...
