wuts involved with a tune

Im planning on getting a tune for my svt...but then I realized that I know nothing about it. I did a search, but couldnt find wut i was looking for. Do I need to purchase a chip, or can a tune be done on stock computer. If this has already been discussed, please point to that forum and ill read up. Thanks

The only way to tune the SVTF is via a flash tuner such as the Diablo Predator, or the SCT XCalibrator. The unit itself takes the programs loaded into it by a dealer, and then saves your stock file, and then downloads the new tune to the PCM via the OBD2 port. On the SVTFs, this process takes approx 10-15 minutes, and is pretty painless. You select the program, follow the on screen prompts on the Xcal2, and it takes over from there.

The only preprogrammed settings are one the dealer loads into the tuner. I include 2 tunes in my package, but each tune will have end user adjustable parameters.

How did you not finding anything when you searched? There's enough reading there to get you through a life sentence .

Check out the reviews sticky at the top of the SVT Performance page.
