New clutch suggestions

so my clutch is slipping and the dealership won't cover it under warranty, and they want 1300 to replace it. My question is, what do i need to replace to fix the slipping, is it just a new clutch? or a new clutch and flywheel? or anything else i might need? i would also like suggestinos on what and where to get the parts? im gonna upgrade to a performance clutch so any suggsetinos would be great
thanks in advance
-jared

A quick search will get you a ton of info on this topic.

You might also look into the infamous clutch TSB (info on it in a sticky in the owner's lounge) as a way of getting it fixed if you have the "rattle".

WOW $1300 to replace a clutch with crappy parts that are going to break again? I had the same problem with the first dealership I went to, they wouldnt cover it either. Then I took it to a more reputable dealer and they ordered the parts on the spot no questions asked.
Tom's suggestion is a good one, you'll just have to find someone to install it for you.
New Edge Performance has a good set up too.

Yeah, the way I look at it...If something breaks, then it's a good time to replace it with either something more performance oriented, or something with a great name and durability. I wouldn't have the dealer do it if they are charging $1300 for a new clutch, thats rediculous....Spend a few bucks, have a friend come over, and get it popped in, then kick back a few cold ones.

I doubt it would be as simple as that LOL ... I heard just removing the tranny is a real PITA! I myself am dreading that inevitable day but I am starting to save for the good stuff now in preperation for what will surely come.

EDIT: I am still on the fence as to what clutch/flywheel combo to go with because if I went through all that work and money and ended up with a noisy/chattering clutch I would be pissed in the extreme so I am still looking for more info myself!

WELL... our SVT's come with the infamous dual mass flywheel, that has been noted for causing some issues. Don't know if it would accept and aftermarket clutch, but as long as you're in there replace it with a lighter {less than 25lb} one that won't come apart.
