I've been spoiled now Im thinkin of a vehicle change!!!

Hello all. Last week my SVTF had to go in once again for yet another tsb fix (suspension). Well Ford didnt have a loaner so they told me just to go over to Enterprise and pick out something of what was left. Well I went over there and to my intitial horror all they had left were a few Nissan Titans. Well I honestly have never been much of a truck guy but hey thats all they had I needed something so I said what the hell. Well after driving the truck around for a week I think I have been converted to a truck guy. I mean hell I had the base model and it was EXTREMELY nice and after checking around I could get a base xe with the power package for like 23k. But at the same time I like my SVTF but after driving the Titan my lil focus seems slow as hell. So my question to all of is well a couple actually. I was wondering if anyone knew much about the Titans as far as life span and durability and overall experiences with these trucks. I would also like to know what everyone would do in my situation? Get the Titan or stick with a SVTF. Thanks for everyones time and input in advance.
Ricky

They couldn't be farther apart, I would stick with the SVTF just cuz I'm a sports car guy. Would never buy a truck or SUV until later in life when I have a fam.

The Titan is American
Maybe built by a company that is owned by the French but who keeps track of these things. I've had two Nissan trucks (00' Xterra & 04' Frontier) and both were 100% perfect, so I'm a big nissan fan. When I picked up my Lariat I was choosing between it and an 05' Nismo Edition Frontier but went with the Ford because nelieve it or not it was nicer. As to the get a Lightning post above, I'm a family man and need rear seats and doors. Besides, I'd rather get a Vortech blower and roast Lightnings all day

Well, I personally don't think I could ever get used to driving a truck after the SVTF's handling... It sounds like you're just enjoying driving a V8 and not so much a truck. If that's the case, just buy one of last year Trans-Ams or Z28 Camaros... LS1 Corvette engine V8, and if you get the manual, you get a T56 6 speed transmission... Awesome cars.

One more thing about the "slow as hell" thing is a big SUV/pickup is going to feel fast at 15 MPH. The huge soft tires, the wallowy suspension, the body roll makes it all seem "fast fast fast". I did a quick look up on th quarter mile times and the Titan with the 5.6L engine can do a 15.4. That IS faster than a SVTF but the damn thing has almost triple the displacement! At 6500 lbs it's more than twice the weight, at $35k-$40k it's twice the price at 14/city, 18 highway it gets half the mileage but there's no way you'll get the grins in the twisties.

On the other hand, you'll be king of the road, larger than everyone else, all will cower in fear from your enormous truck. You'll be able to drive anywhere, snow won't be an issue, you can tow just about anything and haul whatever you like; but remember this phrase: "Yes I have a truck, no I won't help you move."
