clutch for svt?

ok, I've been looking around and it looks like the cheapest replacement clutch for a svt is about 380... is this correct or does someone know where I can get one cheaper?

my clutch is slipping like a mofo and I need to get it replaced... also is this something I could possibly replace on my own or is it something that should be taken to a shop for?

also I would like to know if a flywheel should be done too, or would a new clutch be ok...

Well if you are not under warranty anymore the Best thing to do would be a Fidanza Flywheel and the clutch at the same time. Its expensive doin that and i know. But thats the best thing. IF you are still under warranty the popular thing to do is use a new STOCK clutch and buy a fidanza flywheel and have the dealer instal it under warranty. Thats what im doing in a few weeks. I would not want to do a clutch install on these cars, as i have seen one done, and its a PITA. thats my .02 cents but i would get the clutch and flywheel while your at it, it revs faster, ur car will be faster, but it is also double the price. And 380 for the clutch is bout right.

I think I have read somewhere that taking the tranny out of these cars is very difficult. I am going to do it my self anyway, but I always do. I would replace the clutch and flywheel at the same time, might as well while you have it out.

First don't do it yourself unless you have a lot of time and tools. My mechanic had a headache getting it all back together. I got a sachs stage one clutch with a findanza flywheel and man am I ever glad I did. The car revs much faster and makes more power, plus the clutch is way stronger than the stock one. I would suggest getting a new flywheel and clutch but thats just my opinion. Whatever

I know from my mechanic that there is quite a bit to unhook persay to remove the tranny. I had a SPEC stage 3 clutch and a Fidanza flywheel, which I had installed right after my stock clutch went out. Loved it, and well worth going aftermarket.
