Valve cover painting

I wasnt sure where to post this question, but I'm sure this would do. I wanna paint my valve cover red, to match my car obviously. I just wanted to know what kind of paint I should use? Whenever I ask someone they say use heat resistant paint blah blah, but does anyone know a good brand maybe?

The best results that i've seen is when people powder coat their valve covers. They look awesome. I completely recomend that, even tho it will be more expensive (probably need to have someone do it for you) it will be worth it.

If you opt to not powdercoat, go with a high heat engine paint and you'll be good to go.

I second that about powdercoating....holds up much better than paint.

Here's a pic of my valve cover done in blue...

That's scary, That looks exactly like my valve cover except I machined the powder off of the raised lettering to match my polished pieces underhood. Looks great though. About the painting I would recomend using Dupli-color high heat engine enamel. it's got a really nice finish to it . Be sure you prep the valve cover correctly though to remove any oil or grease buildup that may be on it. Good luck.

I was realy happy with how well the blue powdercoat matched the paint.

I got the CF plug cover custom made by a local CF fabricator...I'm trying to convince him to make a production mold so he can make more. I know a bunch of guys who want them. If he does I'll let you know.

You'll need a metal valve cover to powder coat it.........
