Throttle Body

What options are there for a throttle body for an 02 SVT ?

I know about the focus sport but could a larger throttlebody like say a 75mm throttle body for a mustang work ?

Our SVT focis have a pretty unique TB mount from what I've seen. I can tell you that the Focus Central TB made a WORLD of difference on mine.

I was looking at a friends mustang today 96 model I believe, I didn't have time to realy compare closley it looked like it had a very similar design. It was just enough to make me more curious. He is planning on upgrading his TB soon if or when he does I'll see if I can't make a closer comparison. IT ma be just to plain big but I just can't help thinking there has to be somthing other than the focus central tb

I'm not saying that FC is bad it looks like a quality peice and I've never heard a complaint about it. Only me thinking $200-$250 is steep for a little throttle body.

Buy a used one then... there on there every now and then.

IMO, it is a mod worth doing.

I'll be taking my time on the TB unless I run up on a great deal. I just like to take my time with the aftermarket parts but the TB is on the TO DO list for me, it just hasen't made it to the top yet.

Port it yourself, I did and it made a world of diffrence (as big as a tune). It is real easy to port it yourself, if I could do it a three year old could do it. Its just my opinion not to waste $250+ for a t/b that gives you no hp or tq gain. The only way I could see paying that much for one is if your going f/i but if your not save your money and do it yourself.

The FC throttle body is definitely pricey, but you get what you pay for. it is larger, and made of billet aluminum. Also, the plate is steel, not plastic. After having a stock tb, a ported stock tb, and a FC tb, I can tell you without a doubt the FC tb is the way to go. It has a better linkage and a stiffer spring...makes the accelerator pedal much nicer!

Eithe way, you're not going to gain much except low-RPM throttle response. IMO, it was no where near as much of a gain as my tune was. That was in a league all its own. So I guess my suggestion is to port your own stock tb and look for a used FC TB later on. They can be had pretty cheap (think I paid $150 shipped for mine??).
