Borla Exhaust question.

I was just wondering if anyone knows if buying the borla catback system will make my SVTF sound any different than what my setup now does. I had the middle muffler cut out and replaced it with the same stock piping, and also have an apexi muffler on the end with a 4" tip. I still have the stock cat. Will buying the borla make it sound any cleaner, or louder? I would like to get it because of it being 100% polished, instead of having welds on my stock pipe from the mods I've done to it.

not sure how it would sound compared to yours, from what ive heard the borla sounds pretty much like stock till about 4k then it sounds better. also its more of a mature exhaust note, not all superloud neon with a shit can like.

Borla isn't that loud. More like your Oem exhaust. Save the money on another upgrade. the only reason I bought one was cause I got the cervini body kit. I would of had to cut up my stock exhaust to dual it out in the rear.

Do you get any performance gain from the Borla exhaust vs. stock?

borla should sound a lot cleaner vs stock w/ a fart can and a muffler chopped.

A friend of mine just got one on his '02 SVT and it sounds sooo much better. He went from having the ORP and stock catback to replacing the stock catback with the borla. It really cleaned up the sound, and it's not near as loud and raspy as his previous setup. It has a much deeper tone to it and from what I hear, it only gets better. The only thing holding me back on buying one is the $400 price tag :(

$400 is pretty much as low as you'll get unless you find one on a forum or ebay.

I love how mine sounds. I swapped my MBRP for the Borla because of a trade I worked with some FI parts, but I like it MUCH better than my MBRP. The stock exhaust is pretty damn good, so you won't notice much of a difference in power. For sound alone, its a good mod...but is it worth the price to you? Everyone will have different answer. I recommend tracking someone down in your area with one installed and listening to it first.
