Bent Wheels

Had my Focus for about a year and half now and I am thinking of buying out the lease. I am happy with the vehicle performance wise, but I was wondering what you guys thought about the tire/wheel issues that many of us SVTers have been experiencing.

Is the best thing to buy a set of Winter and Summer tire? I see that can get very expensive. Is there an all around tire anyone recommends? I already had an accident with the Contis, so I am looking to replace them before the winter returns.

What about bent wheels? Can they be fixed? Since I have 3 wheels bent, does that mean I have to shell out 1k+ for new ones.

Thanks everyone,

I prefer to have two dedicated sets of wheels/tires for summer/winter.
However, there's several members that have the Continental Extreme Contact all-season tires.
They're a great compromise if you need one tire for all conditions.

As far as the wheels, you can get them brand new at several places for $115-125 each.

I like having two dedicated sets also. I like having 16's in the winter to soak up the big pot holes better. Like WD said, there are some places that can get you sets for less a grand. Just take you time shopping around, especially for the winter wheels. Don't get caught in the rush just before snow flies.
