if you are worried about the filter getting wet, get a short ram, much less maintenance for sure. oh yea, im pretty sure the by-pass wont fit on the SVT's anyways, which kinda sucks. But heres a good write up on them to give you some more info.... http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/te...ted/index.html

only if the filter is completely submerged will it do you any good, you stick yoru filter in a bucket of water or just the end of the pipe on a wall when ur engine is pulling in air it will create pressure and cause the rubber flaps on the bypass to open up and suck in air from there...i dont think it will do any good, i dont have one on my AEM and im in Michigan, lots of people on here swear by them though

Why cant you install one on any CAI if its a compatible size? It sounds like it would work universally, even though Ive heard it isnt.

I have a AEM cai and the bypass vavle is realy not worth it. i agree with who ever said get a short ram. The bypass valve is good if your filter gets submerged but when its not raining that hard or even reainging at all the bypass vavle will make you loose a couple of HP. I had to take my BYpass valve off because of the lack of power. go with short ram, i would recomend volant. the gains are almost as good if not the same as aem, but it looks a hell of alot nicer. also no worring about sucking up any water.
