12HP Gain from K&N???

I just got an email from K&N on new air charger that they claim adds 11.86HP. The CAI's they list at around 8HP, which seems to match some dyno results I have heard.

Can this be true? 12HP is getting close to 10% improvement for us. Not bad if true. Anybody try this yet?

Manufacturer claims. Here in the real world your looking at 3-8 hp.

that is a huge power gain for a CAI they be measureing crank hp vs whp and that might be why the gain is that great.

K&N is distinguishing...this is not a CAI , it is an "air charger".

I looked up the MSRP $499

They're not emissions legal in some States!

You can get one for about $325.

Moving to “SVT Performance Chat”...
Yeah, I agree, the figure that Silver03SVT posted is more realistic.

The filter linked to is for a 2.3 so it MIGHT just make over 10HP. The one listed for the SVT is said to make 5.4HP.

Defiantely makes more sense that way. And 5.4 is still probably crank power :D
