Gas milage...what are the SVTF getting???

I've seen this posted before but not specifically for the SVTF.

Here's my situation: I currently have a '97 Mustang Cobra coupe that I want to retire to "weekend status" soon, hence why I'm looking at Focus'. The Cobra gets about 24mpg driving to and from schoo which is 45 miles one way from my house. Can any of the SVTF beat that?? The 24mpg is WITH the A/C on as well.

Let me know guys. Thanks.

A Cobra getting 24mpg? That's not bad...my SVTF gets around 30mpg on avg., with the occasional romp through the gears... ;)

yea....but the Cobra's almost got 90K miles(almost 24K on the motor) and I really want to keep the miles off her for a while and get better gas mileage at the same time.

I have been getting around 27, mostly highway driving, and I don't know if anyone is strong willed enough to keep from the "occasional romp through the gears" in this car.

What the... I just got filled up with a little over 8 gallons, and got 317 miles since the last fill-up...... If I'm not mistaken, that's like 39.625 mpg? No A/C, pretty calm driving with the occasional run to redline.

I think you'll find that you'll get REALLY bad gas mileage after your next refill

Yeah, most likely. There has to be something wrong here, as I don't see my SVTF getting 40 mpg
