Cruise Control Quit.

Any suggestions? Mine just stopped working. I noticed it yesterday evening driving home. Probably a fuse or something.

1. Check fuse
2. Check throttle cable for CC

Start your car, get out and walk around to check your brake lights to see if they are on. This happened to me once and it turns out there is a little box type thing with a plunger on it that just snaps up under the dash by the top of the brake pedal that can fall off. When it does it makes your car/ecu think that you have your brakes on all the time and will not allow you to set your cruise. If its not that then check what Daeron posted, or better yet just check what I posted and he posted then you'll be covered.

Does your indicator light come on? Look over at the two SVT-only gauges (oil pressure and temp), and you should see the little speedometer-looking light there, telling you the system's on. If you see that when you turn on the cruise, then it's probably the cable to the TB broken.

If you don't see a light, look up the fuse assignments in the manual - it's probably blown.

I've been inside at work but I'm thinking it must be a fuse b/c the little green light wouldn't come on. I'm fixin' (Arkansas term) to go check the fuses.

The little green light won't come on if the plunger box thingy (technical term for it) is not secure. Check it for me so I can sleep well tonight. Thanks.

arrrrrrrrggggggghhhh. I went through the manual like 20 times and can't find a fuse that is referenced to the cruise control. Anybody know which one it is?

sidney> I started the car. Brake lights are not on. Sleep well.

LOL...well, I have no advice for you, but good luck!

Did you check the engine-bay fuse box?

The focus manual has the fuses and what they are used for for both fuse boxes none of them say they are for speed control / cruise control. I looked through the SVT supplement also.

There's also a switch somewhere on the clutch, because as soon as you tap the clutch peddle the cruise contron disengages. So if it's not the fuse or the switch on the brake there's yet another place to look...
