ORP install questions

few questions -

What are the bolts i need to buy...if i just go to autozone and say give me some grade 8's would they know...are these bolts the kind that have a start on the flat end to keep it locked?
-How the heck to you unscrew the top 3
-The stock cat is the flex pipe to allow for movement of the engine, right?...shouldnt the orp be a little moveable aswell
-how do the o2 cheaters plug in
-what shops would install this for me if i choose to go that route?

Thanks a lot

well I can tell you no shop will install it for you since its illegal unless you know someone willing to do it for you. the o2 cheater plugs into the rear oxygen sensor.you may need an impact to get those bolts loose.

i dont know what the difference in yalls and my zetec is, but i had to use a dremal cutter to cut the top bolts and the kit came with new bolts, it it is a hard project but everything is pretty much self expainatory, just plug n play besides how hard the cat is to take off.

There's only 2 bolts up top. You don't remove the flex pipe, it stays there. You'll need about a foot and a half of extensions to get to the ones up there.

As for bolts, get grade 8 bolts, nuts, washers, and lock washers (1 1/4" - 1 1/2"). I went to Autozone and they didn't have enough so I went to Lowes and got them. About 9.50 after tax. You'll need 5 sets.

Hardest part will be getting the bolts broken. Once you have that done, should take you about 15-20 min to get it out and put the new one on. Make sure you use the old gaskets from the cat unless you have new ones. Hook up the O2 sensors before you install it or else you may have some issues getting them on (front one is a tight fit). That's about it. Good luck

Do you think race cars run cats? What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
