headers ?????

Ok now I know regular focus's can put our header on there cars. But can we put zx3 headers on our cars? You would probably need to switch the cat and flex right? See Gabe (y2kpedo regular zx3) has a full exhaust and so do I but he can keep up with me really good. Like scary good no other zx3 has like his has and the only thing I can think its from is his exhaust. Now my exhaust isnt the best and I actually think im losing hp with it. But pretty soon I want to put the same header as him and a borla (he has magna). What u guys think

You're not going to find a better header than what's already on your car.
The ORP will hurt low-end torque somewhat, so that may be part of the problem.

What does your 2.5" exhaust consist of?
Meaning, which muffler, and is the tubing mandrel bent?

My recommendation...forget about the exhaust...
Get the Diablo Predator or SCT XCalibrator tune!

And, don't forget the rather tall 1st gear in the SVTF...
It's NOT a 1/4 mile drag racing car.
Try him from a roll, and take him into the twisties.
I'm certain you'll have a much better outcome!

Yes, definitely!!! A custon tune is going to give you more power than any current bolt-on's out there for the SVTF without a doubt!!

well I know a tune is the best but the tubing on my header doesnt look to good. I took a really close look at my header and it doesnt look mandrel bent and like it was caved in on some sides and corners. Thats kinda why I wanted to get a different header.

Got pics of the suspect areas?
Are you saying your's has been damaged in some way?

IMHO, the SVTF header is one beautiful looking piece, and very well crafted.
Though, a trip to Jet Hot Coatings would really finish it off well.

the stock svtf header is engineered and has yet to be out engineered. yes, an ORP will hurt low end tq, but the rpm range effected is not seen during a straight line race anyhow. my guess is the zx3 either had something else done to it, or you have a loose nut behind the wheel.

lol no he has a off road race header (meaning no cat) and a full exhaust (magnaflow) that I helped put on. The only other thing he has is just a cone filter put on but I mean it cant help that much. Now on my car the home made intake I have I suspect Im losing power on it. Now my exhaust I have or had a strait pipe on it but it was too loud so it now has my stock resonaotr and tip with silencer. The exhaust is a 2.5 from the header till the tip I had them make me a custom orp. Because it was not mandrel bent I think Im losing some hp. I dont think its the driver cuz I have alil skill in killing some quick cars like two nights ago I beat a late 90's z28 from 30 to 65. maybe im lucky or I got some skill.
