Rattle noise only between 1k-2k rpm

its weird there is a lsight rattle noise when i hit the gas and come off it between 1.2k-2k rpm. but it onyl does it when the car is warm. when i first start the car it dosent make the sound. any suggestions on what it could be. it dosent do it at idle so i know its not the clutch tsb

Only thing I can think of at the moment, is to get underneath the car, and check your CAT heat shield.
Those are notorious for coming loose...or falling off completely.

If the heat sheild isn't the cause check the plastic covers under the hood.The one that covers the coil used to rattle on my car at simalar rpm's and there are a few others that look like fine candidates for a rattle like the one on the throttle body lincage and the header heat shield

sounds like a the cat shield mentioned above...half of mine ripped off...now the top rattles and i need to tie it down

I took mine to ford for that while it was still under warranty last week, which I knew it was the heat shield and told them. They fixed it by putting a metal hose clamp at the front and back around the cat and the heat shield and strapped it on there as tight as they could, fixed 'er right up.

i had the exact same thing at 1500 rpm. while i was installing my exhaust i just tightened the bolts to the cat heat sheild and bent the corners of it away from the cat a little bit and that seemed to fix it.

well i just had my cat sheild replaced. it made the sound before the install and after so the heat sheild idea is out. any other suggestions?
