Question Performace upgrades for SVT transmissions???

Hey guys since I'm replacing my clutch I'm doing all the mods that required the trany to come off to save some money down the road; ClutchMasters stage 4 and fi. I'm most likely having my transmission rebuilt since I beleive the synchro for the 4th gear got messed up. And I was woundering if anyone does any performace upgrades/rebuilds to out transmissions?

You could always do the Fidanza Flywheel and the Quaife Differential.

I'm getting the flywheel, I research the differential hadn't thought about that. What are the benifits of the differential?

Just looked it upa and its a bit out of my price range. What I was originaly talking about was the actual gearing of the transmission?

From what I understand, there are no "serviceable" parts in the Getrag trans.
That's why, if there's ever a problem, you get an entirely new unit.

Let us know if you find anything different, especially with your situation regarding the snychros.

There's also no different gears available, unless you want to swap some from the Mini Cooper trans.
Though, they actually seek ours out.
Believe it or not, the final drive ratio is even taller in the Minis.

There's a couple pretty good Mini Cooper forums where I've read this,
though (amazingly enough) I don't have the links at the moment.

yea, I'm intersted in knowing if "downgrading" to a regular focus 5-speed would be a good idea for acceleration purposes? I know ours suck for that.

What are your power goals?
You "could" drop 1000 - 2000 dollars in a tranny swap... OR you can drop about 7K in Quaife's aftermarket 6 speed which is pure race, I even think it has square cut gears...

OR if your going to up the power, than just live with the current setup, because with enough torque, our gear ratio makes more sense.
