for those of you who got baseline dynos...

perhaps you can enlighten me on how you are supposed to dyno a car with traction control. i took mine to a local dyno tuner last night... he has a dynopack chassis dyno and hooked everything up... tried to dyno the car only to find that the traction control shuts the car off when it senses the front wheels moving but the rears staying still (which will always be the case on any dyno, whether chassis or roller). we pushed the traction control off button but that didnt work out either. he contemplated pulling out ABS fuses but i didnt want to screw anything up so i told him to stop.

is there some sort of sequence of buttons that need to be pushed on startup or something to disable t/c? i know that custom tunes can disable them but what about before you load the tune on?

i didnt see a trac fuse, only abs fuses

Yea, Its the TC fuse. Many people make a inline fuse switch if they dont have a tune and just flip the switch and it stops the TC AND abs. Perfectly fine to do.

is the traction control fuse under the hood or inside the car? i didnt see it in the instruction manual...

pull fuse #46, thats it. it will make a couple of lights stay lit in your gauge cluster but don't stress, once you put the fuse back in you'll be fine. The check engine,emergency brake,and traction control lights are the ones that will stay lit. the fuse is in the car.

Go to a good dyno and that will help also, If you are using the Pak to tune that is one thing if you are doing it to see the power you have there worthless and your power will be down or up to high , It all will depend on how well he puts the Info into the PC as to your out come

Find a dynojet some where and you wont have to tuch the fuses

tom,

thanks for the info on the dynopack. however, wouldnt the trac control thing be exactly the same on a dynojet? doesnt trac control sense that the back wheels arent moving and just shut the car down, or am i missing something? i'd like to know more about how it works and why it disables the car from being dynoed properly on a dynopack.

The dyno pac does each wheel, Both wheels will pull but one more than the other PCM senses that you are slipping on one traction wheel and applys brakes to that wheel to keep the speed of both front wheels the same for more traction , then it sees the other wheel and tryes to come to a stop

When the PCM sences the back wheels no turning this only sets the ABS when there is no brake Psi applied the PCM then kicks the ABS CEL on till the back wheels start to role again then resets it

The TC only applies to the front wheels and does not look at what the back wheels are doing

On a side note my tune does turn off the TC so you have controle over the TC on / off button
